Hunger gnaws upon the starving land
Drought drowns thirst across the desert sands
Death reaps souls into its cruel hands
Disease plagues the life of every (woman, child, and) man

People are dying
Children are crying
Why aren't we trying
To save them

The jungles are teaming with life
The deserts are steaming with strife
The savannah plains
Have no more rain
And only bring(s) pain
The sun cuts into the heart of the land
Like a knife

Others are living
Not even giving
A single thought
To save them

Do they know about our world
Do they care about us
We don't care about their world
They were there without us before
But no more

Their world is the pain of thirst
And (the) hunger in their bodies
And the hope within their souls
That they will live to see another day

Life is for living
Hearts are for giving
Faith is for believing
We can save them

Give until it hurts
Then you may know how they feel
Give until it feels good
Every little bit helps to heal
The sick and feed the hungry
