Standing there in front of me
Blowing in the leaves
Waving in the wind
Rocking in the breeze
Swaying in the storm
Blown along the zephyr
Covered in snow

How many times have I been that free
Changing colour with the seasons
Glowing in the autumn gold
Raving in the fall red
Shocking in the summer sun yellow
Praying in the winter cold white
Grown among the spring green
Coloured in sunshine

How many times have I dreamed that was me
Doing what I wish I could do
Showing them how it is done
Paving the way for everyone
Talking of the promised ones
Saying they can find their own
Shown reality
Scattered under the stars

How many times have I seemed to be
Living life like it's all been done before
Knowing one day it will all end
Saving a penny for every one that I spend
Stocking my possessions instead of my friends
Playing the game even though it's
Known I will lose
Buried under the Earth
