I have come to the conclusion
That we are under the delusion
That life is just an illusion
And sleep is an intrusion
Upon our dreams
It only adds to the confusion
Of the scene

I have run out of solutions
To the problem of dilution
To the state of evolution
And the stench of the pollution
Of our schemes
It only subtracts from the resolution
Of what's seen
Of what we mean

I have some other hypothesis
That we/it requires further analysis
That we (wi)ll develop a new synthesis
And cure the symptoms of the crisis
Before we scream
It can only lead to this
Blood flows downstream

Downstream I have fun with these allusions
To add salt to the contusions
To inject cruelty with the infusion
And long for the occlusion/inclusion
It's not what it seems
It only hinders the obtrusion
Of the obscene
Imprinted upon our ancestral genes
Down the stream
Downstream
