The condition(s)/situation(s) were/was/are/is critical
The emotion(s)/rejection(s) were/was/are/is typical
The timing was/is crucial
The feeling was/is mutual
(The intensity was/is brutal)
But will/is/was the pain (of departure) (be) reciprocal

After (the) shock
Has finally taken hold/((its) toll)
Master/laughter: the clock
Is the doctor of/to the soul

Shrapnel in my veins
Splinters of agony
Unraveling the pain

This winter has/is tortured/ing me
