Lyric:
NORTHERN LIFE July 3/83 Karl Rigelhof

The pines embrace the clear blue sky
Thrust up through the stone
The sun reflects off the waters of the lakes
This is a place we can call our home

The beauty of the wilderness will take your breath away
It feels so good to be one with nature
It's hard to find the words to say
A glimpse of the peace we'll find in the future

To hear the call of the birds on the breeze
To watch the flight of the loon
It leaves you with a lasting tranquility
To only be shattered much too soon

The fish are dying and the birds no longer sing
Acid rain continues to take its toll
We must stop the/this slow death of our native wildlife
It's something that kills a little bit in us all

The sun sinks into the gentle peaceful night
Will it be the last we see
The time is now to set the wrong to right
If we don't stop it now there will be nothing left of this country
