Aug. 21/07 - We had a great time participating in this year's Durham Region Music Society Awards 2007 - Best Live Performance Competition last Tuesday at The Wing Shack in Whitby. Thanks to Terry and Howard from the DRMS for inviting us and we'll keep our fingers crossed to see if we get into the final 3 and attend this year's Awards Ceremony to find out if we win the $250.00 prize and a full performance at The Wing Shack. Aug. 9/07 - We have been invited to participate in this year's Durham Region Music Society Awards 2007 - Best Live Performance Competition. June. 18/07 - We're back in action! Life's been hectic in the N7 camp over the last few months, and change is always inevitable. Our drummer Don Popert has decided to pursue another musical course, and we wish him luck with his future endeavours. After a relentless search to fill Don's "big" shoes, we would like to welcome another "South of 7" drummer, Mike Raines, from Oshawa into the N7 fold. Even though Mike is still a "young whipper-snapper", he has many years of experience on the skins and has played in several Classic Rock bands, including Nancy Lee & The Accomplices.
The bookings are starting to fill in for the summer starting with a private event at the Cedar Hollow Ranch "777" get together on July 7th. We're back at the Tartan Tavern on Fri. & Sat. July 27th & 28th, so put on your dancing shoes (speedos and bikinis optional) and come on out for the festivities.
We are proud to lend our musical services to the BOONIE FEST, a Fund Raising Charity Event for the new R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre, to be held in Burketon at the The Old General Store, 10249 Old Scugog Rd., L0B 1B0, on Fri. & Sat. Aug. 11th & 12th. This is an all weekend event with over 20+ bands performing, and hopefully raising a lot of money for a good cause. Here's the ticket and venue information: Gates @ 12:30pm, Show @ 1pm, both days, Admission: Weekend pass with tenting - $25 (includes weekend pass, tent site, Sunday breakfast), Weekend pass no tenting - $20,Saturday only - $14, Sunday only - $9. Regular tickets will be available through www.ticketbreak.com in July. Weekend pass with tenting will be available through reservation only. The festivities begin at 12:00 noon on Wed. Nov. 16th in the Senecentre (Sports Centre) at the Newnham Campus, 1750 Finch Ave. E., North York, 416-491-5050.
Oct. 26/05 - The Salvation Army Christmas Charity Toy Drive has been re-scheduled to Saturday, December 10th and will be held at the Milton Sports Centre (Arena) Hall, 650 Santa Maria Blvd., Milton, ON. The show starts at 9 p.m. and rocks until 2 a.m. and the doors are open at 8 p.m., so be there early to get a good seat. Directions are as follows: Hwy. 401 to Hwy. 25 South to Main Street East to Commercial then South to Derry Rd. The hall is attached to the Milton Sports Centre (Arena). Admission is $15 and tickets are available at the door or in advance at "M&M Meats" and "Fabutan" in Milton. Don't forget to bring your toys!
